Author Biography

Anna Catharina Hofmann, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg

 

Anna Catharina Hofmann studied History and Romance Philology and Literature at the universities of Leipzig, Madrid (Complutense) and Freiburg im Breisgau. Her doctoral thesis entitled “Franco’s Modernity. Technocracy and Dictatorship in Spain 1956-1973” was published by Wallstein (Göttingen) in 2019; the Spanish translation will be released in 2023. For this book, she was awarded the Hedwig Hintze Prize by the German Historical Association. During her studies and her PhD, she received scholarships from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, the Gerda Henkel Foundation and the Graduate Assistance Fund of the Land of Baden-Württemberg. She researched and taught as a research associate at the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg and the Humboldt University in Berlin. Currently, she is research associate at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg.
