Postdoc scholarship at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC), Justus Liebig University Gießen (2007/8); Doctorate in Latin American/Brazilian Studies – Freie Universität Berlin (2004); Diploma in Translation Portuguese/Spanish – Humboldt-Universität Berlin (2000). Research interests: literary translation, Brazilian and Hispano-American Literature, recently concentrating on topics of popular culture (football, pop music, comics).

Timo Obergöker, University of Chester

Timo Obergöker is Professor of French and Francophone Studies at the University of Chester. He has recently edited a volume on Rurality and Literature, which will be published in 2024: Les cartes et les territoires - Maps and Territories. Ruralité dans les fictions françaises des XXe et XXIe siècles - Rural Spaces in 20th and 21st Century French Fiction. Würzburg : Königshausen & Neumann. He is also the author of Mai 68, une approche transatlantique (with Jean-Frédéric Hennuy Peter Lang, 2021), La place de la République dans la littérature française contemporaine (Peter Lang, 2020) and Prise de possession. Storytelling, colonialisme et culture populaire (Königshausen & Neumann, 2016).
