In recent decades, the concept of interculturality has made its way into numerous fields, including that of language teaching. The exchange between people of different cultures is therefore seen as an essential value of globalization. At the same time, learning a new language is no longer considered solely in terms of acculturation; it is also a mode of inculturation in a mutual influence between the culture of the target language and the user’s own culture. In Ivory Coast, a francophone country in sub-Saharan Africa, the practice of zuglu in Spanish by SFL students represents a good example of linguistic and artistic inculturation, with zuglu being a local musical genre interpreted, in this case, in a foreign language.
