Author Biographies

Diego Labra, Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET)

Diego Labra is Professor in History and Doctor in Social Science by Universidad Nacional de La Plata, and currently he is a posdoctoral scholarship recipient by CONICET. He has conducted research stays at Rostock University, Germany on two different occasions (with scholarships by DAAD and CUAA/DAHZ), and he is presently a student of the joint PhD program offered by UNLP and Rostock University. His general area of expertise ist situated within cultural studies and history, and more specifically mass culture, print history and comics studies.

Javier Guiamet, Universidad Nacional de La Plata

Javier Guiamet holds a PhD in History from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, where he currently teaches History of Argentina. In the field of research, he has specialized in the relations between Argentinian culture and politics in the first decades of the 20th century. His doctoral thesis is entitled: "Temptations and precautions against mass culture. Argentinian socialists in the interwar period" and was defended in December 2017. On the same year he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to be Visiting Scholar at Columbia University (New York).
