The Journal of Current Chinese Affairs is published by the GIGA Institute of Asian Studies in close collaboration with the Lau China Institute at King’s College London. The GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies is an independent social science research institute based in Hamburg, Germany. It analyses political, social and economic developments in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, as well as global issues. The GIGA Institute of Asian Studies has been researching developments in Asia since 1956 with a special regional focus on Greater China, India, Southeast Asia, Japan, and the Korean Peninsula. The Lau China Institute is a multidisciplinary center for the study of all aspects of contemporary China, with partners across Greater China.
